Sri Lanka offering to the world will come under fresh spotlight on the international stage today as a national day will be hosted at the country pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai, UAE.
The Dubai Expo 2020 that kicked off on 1 October 2021 and will go on till March 2022, has set dedicated ‘National Days’ for the 192 participating countries.
The official website of the event highlighted that the Expo 2020 and Emirates Flight Catering have called on all participating countries to provide authentic recipes to create dishes for the National Day, allowing visitors to sample global cuisines they may have never considered before stepping through the Expo 2020 gates.
The Sri Lanka Pavilion is located in the Opportunity District and showcases the island nation’s progress in different sectors of the economy, including telecommunications, information technology, and research. Much emphasis has been given to tourism and investment opportunities in the country.
Some of the key agencies having stalls at the Sri Lanka pavilion include, Sri Lanka Tea Board (SLTB), the Board of Investment (BOI), the Gem and Jewellery Authority, the Tourism Promotion Bureau, SriLankan Airlines, and the Export Development Board (EDB).
