Efforts will be taken by the government to uplift the agriculture sector so that more agri-businesses will be established in the country.

Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa while presenting the Budget 2022 said that to encourage agro entrepreneurship, measures will be taken to build agro parks. To further push this endeavour, identified uncultivated land will be distributed among young people to engage in agro entrepreneurship.

Meanwhile, to protect the agriculture sector, a Green Agriculture Development Bill will also be drafted.
