Sri Lanka youth player and left arm spinner Vishwa Lahiru ended with an impressive match bag of 12 for 35 which paved the way for Sri Sumangala College, Panadura to coast to an innings and 30 runs win over Dharmaloka MV Kelaniya in the quarter final encounter of the Under 19 inter-school Division Two Tier ‘A’ two day cricket tournament concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.
The second day’s play saw Sri Sumangala being bowled out on their overnight score of 179 in reply to Dharmaloka MV’s 93 runs.
Dharmaloka MV batting the second time and left with the task of erasing a deficit of 86 runs succumbed to Lahiru who followed up his five wicket in the first innings with another seven wicket to bundle them out just 50 runs to steer the Sumangalians to the semi finals.
