The book launch of the Factum Foreign Policy Review “A Vision for a new Sri Lanka” took place yesterday (19), at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute in Colombo. The author of the book, Uditha Devapriya, presented a copy of the book to Sagala Ratnayaka, the President’s Senior Advisor on National Security and Presidential Chief of Staff. Dignitaries in attendance at this momentous event included Acting Foreign Minister Tharaka Balasuriya, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, as well as former Ministers Sarath Amunugama, Ravi Karunanayaka, Vedda Chief Uruwarige Wannila Aththo, Director and Advisor of Factum Dr Ranga Kalansooriya and other officials. Since 1948 the Sinhalese who have ruined the country are still looking for a Vision for Sri lanka. They all need to start wearing Glasses to look for a Vision which is not in sight.

I have two questions. First, Weddha wearing an indian sarong, shouldn't it be local batik..? 2nd, why does Weddha carry that axe in such an urban area? Is that his identity to say I am a Weddha? If yes, why does he just want to remain as Weddha? The only answer I can think of is, all this is just a gimmick for some monetary gain.

Why invite only more politicians to book launch about Sri Lanka's vision? We should involve educated experts and everyday citizens for a more balanced and productive conversation. Recent political issues show that many politicians are more focused on their privileges than their duties, and this doesn't benefit the country.
