THE CBSL REDUCES THE INTEREST RATE FOR SENIORS EVERY MONTH BUT THEIR SALARIES ARE INCREASED WITHOUT SCANT RESPECT FOR US OLD FOLK....HOW FAIR IS THIS ?

This is very true. Senior citizens are not looked after. How can they earn more when they are now retired. This Government should look after them as they are promoting salary hikes for the Central Bank. What central bank has done cannot be respected at all. It looks like a different island within Sri Lanka not bothered of the other salary structures of other organisations and employees. What is the Presidents decision on this ? Can Central Bank do this without consulting the President, who is the President not only for the Central Bank but also for the whole of Sri Lankan employees.

The decision makers of the Central Bank did not expect to see such protests for their idiotic decisions.

I can fainty recollect one of the Deputy Governors was under interdiction in connection with Bond Fiasco.
Could the Governor explain why salaries are revised every 3 years, whilst increase in Cost of living is added every month.

My understanding is that this pay hike is not confined to Present staff but for all Pensioners of the central Bank. I think the General Public is not aware of this.

People you got to understand that CBSL is an Goldmine. Now Ranil lost like 28 elections in Case if you're keeping a count. Now it costs billions of rupees to do elections propaganda and other related expenses. Now the main financiers of UNP is "James Bond" Mahendran, then කොලු Malik Samarawickrama and සීනී Gamage.

he governor is using his administration powers to provide comfort to his staff and all the luxury priviledges he and his staff are enjoying are at taxpayers expense and these should be withdrawn forthwith under the economic hardships the general public is facing and the state should bring in rules to make such priviledged staff to pay for their comforts like the general public do introduced by unlawful unregistered colonialistic bank laws secretly hidden from the public including unwanted bank holidays Holidays should be according to normal labour laws. There is no such thing called bank holiday in the labour laws!!! Banks are considered the country's engines of growth and not the personal property of the governor

There is another story, the CB has to retain the best staff, they have produced results and put runs on the board. Present time when everybody is leaving the country. They had to provide incentives for the professionals if not there wont be anyone left. We saw when a so called brilliant Accountant was the governor with his home grown schemes brought the country to its knees. In Sri Lanka there are no incentives for good performance. They do not understand that logic. They say doctors and other professionals do not get paid that amount. Well they cannot run the CB. Little bit of critical thinking and critical analysis is necessary to see the trees from the wood. At least now people do not have to stand in queues. There should be a culture to benefit high performers. This is why everyone keeps leaving the place and only the bribe takers and non performers will be left behind.
