With the dawn of the New Year, the ancient ritual of boiling milk was performed at the Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) in Kandy last morning (14).

Thirty-three minutes after the dawn of the New Year, milk was spilt at the main entrance of the Temple 'Pallemale'. The Maha Sangha in charge of the Tooth Relic, Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela and a group of officials were present on the occasion. Pix by Nadeeka Daya Bandara
