Being at the this event last evening , and myself not A political, from General Gerry de Silva's speech I gathered that the main and most important reason he had invited Mahinda Rajapakse and Gotabaya Rajapakse is because without their unwavering support, strength and resistance to western pressure we couldn't have finished the war. As iterated by General Gerry, many times they were so close to ending the war with LTTE but heads of those governments always gave into pressure and backed down . So the rightful architects of this victory and the fact we live in peace even to comment or felicitate all those "War Heroes Killed-In-Action" is because of the Mahinda Rajapakse regime for which we need to be grateful as a nation and give due respect for them.

Yes we are indeed grateful to that but is that all ? What about the real heroes who got injured (SF) and those at the front lines who braved it out. Was anyone of that type invited invited? Otherwise looks political.
