Kudos to the Galkiriyagama Wildlife officers! It seems like this baby elephant wanted to take a shortcut to becoming the next "well"-educated member of its herd. Now, let's hope this adventurous little one has learned its lesson and chooses to follow a more traditional path, avoiding the village area and not attempting any more "shortcut" adventures. After all, a wise elephant knows that staying within the wild is the way to go!
