It is sad and questionable why the Mahanayaka theras avoid issuing statements on the atrocities of the government and leave it to novice priests. In my mind Mahanayakas are there to enjoy all perks from the government and not to advice governments when they move in a wrong direction.

Instead of carrying out religious duties praying in our temples invoking Buddha - maybe including Hindu India, atheist China and Muslim Saudi Arabia - to deliver to our paradise food, fuel, medicines etc, they are engaging in temporal actions. Maybe in our Buddhism Religion and Temporal have merged into one.

Since when did these Bhikku's pay electricity bills? How about them stop wasting electricity now that the country and the CEB has reached the point of bankruptcy. Wonder if this is an offshoot of the university thugs?

All this only because one of their guys have been taken in to custody, where the monk should never have been in the first place. These monks place is the Temple.. These are the very people who backed the racist Rajapaksha regime for which the entire 22M are suffering

Bhuddism is greater than Sri Lanka, and Bhikku must forward for freedom of people here to seek enlightment through trials of live. Government over control/repression is blocking of that. Youthful, young Bhikku Federation doing well for country. If this repressive activity against young persons, including venerable Bhikku happens there will be no Buddism in our country. Dictator who wants to kill can easily re-write Bhuddism in his views. State control of religion has happened in too many countries. Just like Bhuddist monks turned away from Gota after earlier misguiding advocating for him, young Bhikku must see their path to help others is not by bowing to government, or Government department.

I am surprised that people writing negative comments about these protestors, instead of supporting them to oust the leaches of RW, MR clan, the brutal Police, a corrupt judiciary etc. that have ruined the country. Shows why Srilanka is in this horrid state.

With all what is happening and with the appointment of new Ministers and State Ministers, it is crystal clear that “Gota Gone Home But Still in the Game” It also shows that Sinhalese people could be easily fooled. Police act as henchman of Rajapakses. So, they will arrest some Bikkus soon and everything will subside immediately.
