I am a British Sri Lankan living in London.
Believe it or not the Christmas decorations in Colombo appear much grand and attractive than in London. In London no one talks about Christianity during Christmas it is all about fun and shopping and of course getting ready for the after Christmas sales.

You are right about that. I live in Manchester and I really miss SL during Christmas.

Do not market Christmas to earn $$$$$ and destroy the spirit of Christmas. This will exploit the irrational minds of people and directing to fun departing the truth of celebration, the birth of Jesus Christ

Looks very beautiful. Unfortunately, only a vary small section of our country can enjoy a happy life with such decorations.

All our lives we joyfully celebrated the birth of Our Savior. So let's say or do anything to dampen that spirit. We don't need worldly wealth the celebrate Christmas. We do it in our hearts. There is nothing wrong in lighting up too, so long as the true message of the Birth of Jesus is known to all.

Is it good to illuminate public places like this when the majority of households are in the dark? Can you please ask your saviour to save Sri Lanka from anarchy?

Not different here in Auckland; hardly any decoration, even in the city’s centre. Christmas is mostly about getting away from work and shopping on boxing day. We love our time in Sri Lanka.
