If they don't pay for the actual cost of the electricity they consume, whom do they expect to pay it for them? The government? Through printing money or raising taxes? We as a people have had a free ride for far too long with government subsidies (i.e. loss making ultimately footed by the government). The best way to drive behavior change in electricity consumption is to remove all subsidies on it. The is the bitter truth. Yes, and I will be negatively impacted by it, but I wholly understand the rationale behind it and choose not to burry my head in the sand with regard to the matter. Strange that the people who should know better don't see it that way.

If we play our cards right we should be able to obtain aid from India, China, US maybe even borrow more money from Bangladesh with no intention of repaying for generating electricity. We can then provide free electricity to all

Industries are subsidised by the poorest. Industries should be billed actual cost plus, only then will the industries invest in solar.

Well Done! We cannot afford another electricity hike. Put in place a cost cutting initiative, there are too many passengers currently in the CEB!!!!

far too many temples in this country enjoying subsidized electricity for all night chanting and illumination. Over Rs.450 million bill payment outstanding from politicians Many govt. dept. and rented buildings do not pay their utility bills. If these were done according to the law, the poor citizens do not have to bear the brunt
