Dear fellow citizens, I wholeheartedly support your efforts to achieve your demands. It's crucial to grasp the complexity of this situation - it's like holding a double-edged sword. Remember the saying, GADARA GIYOTH ABU NASI, MAHA HITIYOTH THO NASI. If the economy worsens, the cost of living increase of the requested Rs. 20,000 will evaporate and may not help. Stay vigilant about the overall economic conditions.

People are paying government servants salary, but they do not work and give required service to people. People cannot pay any more taxes to maintain these inefficient bunch of people

What about increasing work efficiency by 5% to compensate for the increase?

It would be nice to see if they start protesting to increase their work ethics or corrupt management practices, rather than protesting to increase while goverment bodies are running at a lose due to their incompetence.

Not correct to say Govt.servants are not working and give required service to people.Very efficient staff is their and very quick service is given equal and at times more capable than a private sector staff. They work according to a time schedule with weekend holidays. As I saw one staffs part of work is to handle hundreds of records for a day. example provident fund Dept.very efficient staff in settling payments.

What about productivity of the government institutions? A good example is Sri Lanka Railways. They strike frequently which adds to the misery of people and cause loss of income for the government.
