The rails are rusty and unsuitable for use. The sleepers seen OK as they are concert. The power set is the crap that was imported under an Indian line of credit and this is the end result. Lucky Sri Lanka trains do not travel beyond 80 km/ hr.

Although the railway authorities have taken measures to remove the perished and dilapidated wooden sleepers Instead of new wooden sleepers they have used the concrete sleepers in order to repair the railway track. Even the locomotive experts have widely accepted that the concrete sleepers are not in a position to tolerate the vibration of the moving trains. Due to the unbearable vibration these kind of derailments can be seen frequently Therefore the CGR should take the necessary measures to prevent the trains from derailing further

If the train from Kankesanthurai was on its was to Dehiwala/Mount Laviniya when the derailment occurred at Kollupitiya? So how can one say that the train was returning to the station yard ?

@ - Mizaru - are you qualified to comment about sleepers, tracks, engines and compartments. You should express your qualifications and experience in the railways. Don’t talk via your back hole. A moron.
