When I see these poorest of the poor standing in rank and file to receive the necessities of life for their daily needs, it hurts everyone who is not affected and I ask myself how such a discrepancy between the many haves and the very many can non-possessors (the partially starving) could remain politically unnoticed for a very long time !!!??? The Aswesuma social welfare program, which is still politically controversial, can only be a small "drop on a stone" in view of the misery and suffering of so many people!!! Because there too, without a really radical transformation of the socio-political conditions and the social security systems towards more distributive justice, the image of a better Sri Lanka envisaged and striven for by Ranil will remain an unattainable utopia with a lot of explosives until 2048 (!!!) !
