Education Minister Susil Premajayantha took part in the Education World Forum (2023), held annually in London, with the participation of education ministers and representatives from countries around the world.

The forum began on May 7 and will continue until May 10, with participants from 118 countries across the world.

The theme of the forum embraces "nurturing learning culture, building resilience, and promoting sustainability’ for ‘stronger, bolder, better education by design’.

Education is dramatically changing and it is better our minister to know well about these change and development...we are still left behind in education and specially rural areas and university education badly needed update and upgrading in many areas in humanities

“Education World Forum Held Annually In London”, WHAT A JOKE !. Let the representatives of the participating countries make an unannounced surprise visits to State Schools in London and see it for themselves. They will be shocked to see what happens in British State Schools. They will find (1) pupils talking loudly while the class is in progress and ignoring the repeated pleas of the teachers to keep quiet. (2) Teachers instead of teaching desperately sending emails to the school “security” to come and remove a student who has become very aggressive in the class and threatening other students.(3) Objects thrown at other students in the class and some needing immediate medical help.(4)Girls fighting girls in the hallways with hairs being pulled and kicks and punches thrown at each other (5) An A Level (A/L) maths class in progress were the Maths teacher is a History graduate but when questioned about not having a Maths degree, proudly says he is a “qualified Maths teacher”.

@Sri Lankan Maths Teacher: Unlike other half educated working class Sri Lankans in Britain, you are an educated Sri Lankan and probably from a good family background. This is why you have the MORAL COURAGE to inform fellow Sri Lankans back home in Sri Lanka the truth about the State Schools in Britain. My own daughter studying A/L maths at a state school in London had a Maths teacher who was an English Literature Graduate. When I complained about it to the School head master , he said the same thing “ all our maths teachers are qualified maths teachers”. I had to get a Maths graduate private tutor to my daughter and she passed Maths A/L with the top A grade. If not for the wonderful private tutor my daughter could have never got even a B grade in Maths

Mr. Minister, have a wonderful time in London. As for Education, the Nation had been slaughtered before the alter of ego and ignorance. Please explore the possibilities of teaching English from year 2 without teachers and introduce AI without Wi-Fi and computers.

Have they opened overseas visits (@ tax payers money) to the Government Ministers? It was suspended during the financial crisis. I note that several Ministers were on overseas visits recently. Maybe they can use IMF money now.
