Education minister at US Education Summit



Education Minister Susil Premajayantha represented Sri Lanka at the Transforming of Education Summit, held in New York, USA during the 77th UN General Assembly.

The main objective of this summit was to find solutions to the global educational crisis. Heads of State and Education Ministers from many parts of the world attended this Summit. The launch of the International Finance Facility for Education (IFFEd) would focus on providing financial assistance to revive education in countries which are severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the global economic crisis, took place simultaneously. The country’s education sector will benefit under the IFFEd as a result of the presentation made by Minister Premajayantha at the Summit on the effects the pandemic and economic crisis have impacted on the island nation's academic sector.
