This sector will see any growth only when cost of street food becomes equal or less than the cost of cooking at home!! (Like in Malaysia for example).

These festivals should be organized throughout the country more often. Then the general public can identify the various food items what they prefer for the special functions. Thus not only the local community even the foreigners who wish to taste Srilankan food varieties have an ability to attend these festivals. Further the foreigners attendance may make Srilankan tourism industry uplifted

This should be a permanent feature as in many countries. It will be a tourist attraction as well and an opportunity to sample Sri lankan food. Galle and Kandy are other locations where it should be held

Good initiative but a long way to go .. Introduce different types of food as puttu ; ediyappam; wattalapmam; and sampool; Kottu; and all other curries as well ..

There's never an issue about lack of food for those with the means. There is talk internationally mention about portion of our population suffering, but seeing this, I notice the offerings look as good as they always do for those with good incomes.

Don't see a single tourist as the article claims. The Chef's "walking" in Galle Face also said there are many tourists.
