This protest and demands are a joke. There are better jobs like Nursing but are these women willing to get trained. The standard of our nursing qualifications are not good enough. Most of the women who go overseas are highly illiterate and do not know even basic house work. When the employers find out about the shitty work they do, the women get into all sorts of trouble. When I was in one of those countries, I hired a housemaid from Sri Lanka to help in house work for our family of 2 adults and 2 small kids. I spent a fortune in various fees. The woman arrived and did not even know how to cook rice. She spent 3 months doing nothing and I sent her back to Sri Lanka after 3 months. Then I hired some maids locally (who were in sone free visa ) but they too were only interested in the paycheck and no housework. So how can you expect them to be treated by rough employers of those countries. These protestors are holding these posters because someone from some NGO paid them.

A dollar saved is a dollar earned. We need to create local jobs for the production of items that we import. Take the simple example of dried chillies. We are importing them from India. But we can easily grow chillies even in a home garden and produce our own dried chillies.

Conducting this kind of agitations here in Sri Lanka is good. Not for the victims who are suffering abroad but for the local organising agents.

Sorry you have no choice. You are bankrupt. Families will find a way legally, illegally ,moraly or immoral ways to feed their kids. That's the reality. 6.9 million eligible voters are accountable for. In reality it has been happening since 1956 putting wrong people to govern .
