RANIL have seen And heard of thousands of protests!! Don't waste your time!! If you really want to do something, then get the majority of people who oppose RANIL, get them to the streets in millions to force RANIL to hold general Elections, yeah.

Don’t these doctors know English? Not a single placard in English. Don’t they know that DM is read all over the world. It’s sad to see even in higher professions the standard of English gone down.

GMOA overacted when SAITM issue came and during the last regime of MS/RW striking every now and then. Soft peddled during Gota time and has come out again after a slumber. What they ask to be attended or fixed have got rooted deeply and some forceful action will be a necessity

Health sector of this country had been an issue for quite some time and now the situation has reached to unprecedented level. It is sad to note that government is showing deaf ear just to protect the mega corruption and abuse by the rogue Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwela.. Wickremesinghe-Rajapakse coalition is the worst gangsters safeguarding each others interests to stay in power. GMOA's protest march is timely but the government is steadfast to carry on with abuse of power and crushing any protests with the help of the armed forces.

GMOA is worried about recognition of medical degrees from top foreign universities. They want only srinkan medical degrees to be recognised even when there is an acute shortage of doctors. Good Doctors are leaving the country for higher salaries and cannot be forcibly stopped. Only those who cannot work in English are left behind. We all know srilanka salaries cannot compete with the developed world. So shut-up and if you want more money leave the country and let foreign degrees holders come and fill the doctor shortage

At the moment there are only 12 SLMC approved foreign medical degree programs. Only 1 in Russia. 0 in UK. There are close to 40 universities listed on SLMC website but recognition period of all other universities have expired. How can we send doctors to postgraduate training in universities in UK, Canada, Australia yet NOT consider them suitable for undergraduate MBBS? Not all doctors graduating from local universities are good and not all doctors with foreign MBBS are bad. Similarly, top 10-20% students in international schools are probably much better than bottom half of students in local schools/universities. This is simple statistics. There are so many students in international schools today unlike 2-3 decades ago. Refusing to accept a medical degree program because it lacks a few items is like throwing baby out with the bath water; one would expect doctors to be familiar with the concept no eh? Free education is really tax payer funded education and taxes are paid by everyone.

Aren't these medical personnel earning money through channel practice? They keep patients waiting in private hospitals for hours and hours while they go around collecting money by private practice! Now when the country is in a economic crisis, (for which most of these people are to be blamed for casting their votes in hordes for Rajapakshas), their selfish mentality thinks only about their pockets and not about the thousands of patients suffering in queues in government hospitals who are turned away 'cos the Doctor has not reported for work!

There are issues, no doubt.Products of free education such as doctors, university academics, engineers from CEB are the first in Sri Lanka to resort to trade union actions.These groups have damaged our motherland.Twin pillars of Sri Lankan society free education and free medical services are being damaged by their trade union action.
