An elephant was seen on the Buttala - Kataragama road roaming in search of food. The Wildlife officials claimed that the elephant used to come to the road because people used to feed them. Pix by Nisal Baduge

It’s not a bad habit. My grandmother told me If you feed a wild animal you get ‘Pin’. The fact that they attack other people later is an unfortunate side effect. But I still get my ‘Pin’ so who cares about the repercussions :) Pin Pin Pin

One of the greatest treasures Sri Lanka has. These majestic creatures have greater value than any human being. Killing an elephant must result in a life sentence in prison.

Feeding them on Public roads and consequently drawing them on to the Highway in search of Food is also culpable Offence leading the Elephants to come out of their domain and get injured or accidentally attacking passers-by, resulting in counter action and even killing of the Elephant!!!???
Those too should attract at least 10 years imprisonment, if NOT LIFE term - Tantamount ultimately causing Injury or death of elephant due to BAD HABIT!!!???
