This the festival that is truly national ..the customs . the greeting of elders with Bulath....Kavun kokis and kiribath on the table ..and the ganu denu that follows on not forgetting the fun of the numerous games to bring the community together . It is awesome and peaceful ! I am sure all SrIlankans feel happy even though not Sinhala or Tamil for the others are not forgotten .,Plates laden with goodies are brought to their doors covered with a beautiful lace edged tea covers ... Let our country walk towards the next year with peace and joy after the happy break of welcome to the aluth avurudha ,with the sounds of the rabana and the china patas !
