Shame on you SJB. Both politicians have decided to tuck their tails between the legs and crawl on fours to apologise to Archbishop in order to save the election campaign. At best an insincere attempt.

Three politicians who have assessed their positions and decided to play the best card that works for the three of them. This is SriLankan politics at best. All learnt from the grand masters of Sri Lankan politics Ranil and MR. The people of Sri Lanka wonder why we are where we are.....

This picture clearly indicates that the Archbishop is independent and no political stooge which must have come as a rude shock to those who were hoping to cash in for political gain. He knows very well that the clergy has a duty by his faith and followers not to dabble in politics for personal gain.

I am Muslim and closely known to Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith background we are from same school. The country will never get another personality like him and these are the remnant of quality of human still exiting in our country, and he comes from oldest Catholic school in Sri Lanka and but internationally known network I am not happy with the way Harin insulted Cardinal Malcolm Ranjit. May because Cardinal is not from his school. common syndrome Sri Lanka ( Schoo network)

The damage has already been done. No amount of apologies can rectify it. The SJB will suffer a fate worse than what the UNP is to face.

Harin should have stayed true to what he had said no matter how hard the criticism was rather than being a hypocrite. This kind of behaviour shows how insincere these guys are.

As the leader of the church he is good in withstanding this minor lapses. This is nothing compared to massacre of the innocence on that fateful day. One could consider it as an insult where the government failed to to protect other religious communities. Will the real offenders and who conspired will ever be brought to justice ????
That is the worst insult.
Later on if they could be pardon is another question but most of them died with it I guess. It is also another way punishing / penalising the offenders so they will not forget the carnage they have done and live with it until they are gone. ,
"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." [Luke 23: 34]
I think some people have forgotten Jesus Christ too suffered most insult but simply withstood until crucified. Writings indicate Even Lord Buddha could withstand insult with less effort and deliver a sermon / advise to the insulters.

Shame on you Harin. You should have stuck to your guns and not let that clown Sajith talk you into apologizing. Many people admired you for your courage in speaking out against the clergy getting involved in politics.
Cardinal become a king maker. All Srilankan politicians have no policy to stand their own legs.
They should keep the religious leaders away from politics.

To Err is Human.
No Man is Perfect.
There will be always comments for whatever you do knowingly or unknowingly especially when you are a politician.
Best thing to do is to go forward with your good deeds.
Everything has become political nowadays even comments.

I will not trust the Cardinal immediately. I will wait until the election propaganda period is over as I do not know what trick he will pull out of his red hat next to support Mahinda.
