The Sri Lanka Navy Marine Corps presented three special Combat All-Terrain Vehicles (CATVs) to President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (27). The CATVs were produced locally by Ideal Motor Company and are a part of the new concept of the Sri Lanka Navy Marine Corps to combat illegal activities, terrorist activities, and various smuggling activities along the coast of Sri Lanka. The country does not require this level of alertness towards this sector. We should be able to combat the present level of smuggling and illegal activities using present rules and resources unless they are fully corrupt. Regarding terrorism, this is convenient label for screwing your own citizens and killing them to cover up the poor incompetent governance and inability to finding timely solutions and compromises to citizens problems.This is a piece of show-off to justify the enormous defense budget and its ulterior purposes.
