Siddhartha Gautam was a moral philosopher and good man. He is dead and gone. Why are his followers worshipping him? He did not claim divinity.

Very Beautiful! I know This family doing the katina. They are genuinely Buddhist.

This is where the Buddhist religion is for sale. There is no Buddhist philosophy practice in this joint.

Waste of funds ,this is not what Buddha had preached . All these rituals go against the teachings of great philosopher and we too can understand it .

Katina pinkama at our temple in California was on last Saturday but didn't have all the pageantry during the ceremony. Instead, they donations were collected to help less fortunate in Sri Lanka.

This not what Gautama Buddha preached. This is distortion of his noble message. Buddhism is NOT a religion like Christianity, There is no creator God. It is a way of life, to escape Dukkha,

My experience of rituals has been a waste of money. Instead, feed, clothe, educate and give shelter to those in need irrespective of caste, creed, race, religion and gender. This is the true merit that can bring peace and happiness to one's lives.

I saw a recorded American Greed program where the American woman scammer organised for two years 24 hour round the clock Hindu rituals in India costing around $200,000 feeding about 150 priest families to dispel her legal problems and still got convicted.
