Why don't each of them adopt a stray dog and care for it. This way Rosy will also live and the dogs will also live. Problem solved. On a serious note stray dogs are a danger to public health

These jokers should take at least 10 stray dogs each to their homes feed and maintain them without doing protests. Will settle the problem.

These ngo guys don't understand the risk faced by people, riders and vehicles due to most of the stray dogs. Specially at night. If they care so much about the stray dogs, please note down the addresses of these ngo puppets and drop them at those guys homes. Then they can look after them and all parties will be happy. These ngo guys are same as those who talk about elephant rights but doesn't think about the hard life faced by people in those areas.

Stray dogs are a nuisance in Colombo! They need to be put down, children can’t walk on the streets due to fear of attacks. Being bitten by a stray dog is no joke. I have seen so many strays in packs and walking past them at night is dangerous! Good Mayor!

If these people are so passionate why cant they make a shelter for the stray dogs and make sure they are properly fed and not killed by passing vehicles.

All these demonstrators should form a organization for look after the strays dogs and collect all of them and let the city to be clean and hygenic rather than protesting against the mayor. All of you should protest against to the people who release their dogs to temples, schools and public areas and asked the government to to create more strict rules and regulations against these people.

These idiots don’t care for human beings when this ruthless government forcefully cremate corona victims bodies against religious sentiments, loved ones wishes and International guidelines. They hold placards when trying to get rid of rabid dogs. Maybe they don’t have much to do at home.

You people who are protesting should take this stray dogs to your houses. They are a problem and a danger for the people. I never knew that there are dog N.G.O's in Srilanka. Think of the poor children who need help rather than the dogs. SHAME ON YOU PEOPLE.

If these protestors are really in love with these stray dogs then why are they stray dogs after all. These stray dogs can really find a home in that case. These guys may be receiving some funds from somewhere to stage these protests. Why not use this money to have dog sanatorium if they do not want these dogs in their homes.

When elect criminals, uneducated and ugly to a public office, the innocent and law abiding will be punished. If these morons should escape the public grip, the nature is with us now to punish them severely.

Why don't these do good people take all the stray dogs and house them. Or carry out a program to castrate and prevent further population explosion of the stray dogs?

Dogs have become a menace, There feces/urine carry many germs. Please ban them, Dont listen to these idiots. Dog owners needs to be educated to collect there feces and discard them in a proper manner. Impose a fine on the dog owners who allow their dogs to pee and defecate the streets.

These so called animal loving bleeding hearts should take the animals home if they love them so much. If everyone holding a picket board takes one dog home there will be no stray dogs. These stray dogs are a menace to society and an eyesore to the city with dog turd littering the pavements everywhere. Rabies is a real threat and they should be removed from the streets pronto. I am a dog lover too and have one at home but this protest is ridiculous.

Divoom Sunday, 31 May 2020 10:03 AM
Ah the self self-righteous lol hundreds of people get bitten every year by stray dogs that could be rabid, try walking your dogs in peace or walk home at night without being charged by a pack of dogs, i almost got bitten once!!! maybe they shouldn't be put down per say but letting them roam the streets in their sometimes deteriorated conditions isn't helping anybody and has a handful of negative impacts, just ask India,

THIS IS JUST STUPIDITY, THERE ARE DISEASES SPREADING BY ANIMALS AND WE SHOULD HAVE A CONTROL. WHY DON'T THESE WOMAN AND MEN WHO ARE CARRYING THESE BOARDS ADOPT THESE ANIMALS AND TAKE CARE OF THEM. DONT TRY TO INTERFERE IN EACH AND EVERY MATTER.

Thank you, Madam Mayor for removing stray dogs from streets of Colombo All other Mayors should take this good example and follow suit. These stray dogs are huge threat to public specially children. These dogs spread Rabies and litter every where creating unhealthy. Hundreds of people die from this deadly virus. Please enforce the law to punish people who do not register their dogs/cats (and put a collar) and vaccinate the animals and allow pets to urinate on the roads. Sad to see people who claim to be animal lovers are act in a inhumane attitude towards fellow humans.
00
Sheran Sunday, 31 May 2020 04:11 PM
It's sad to see so many backward comments from people who know nothing about street dogs or do anything for them. The way to control the animal population is to sterilise them not to put them in the pound. The Boralla pound is inhumane to those animals and the conditions are shit. Taking dogs home or saying there are humans not treated well doesn't solve anything. If you care about a cause do something, don't just judge others who are because you have no idea about what's going on.

KUDOS TO YOU Rosy ... what so many men in power couldn't do you did it Bravo!! People who really care for those stray dogs please take them to the shelter dont let them be out on the streets and harm little ones who come to play .. or ask the govt to create a play park for dogs only ..be realistic guys dogs are animals and when they ferocious it gets very dangerous... we haven't stopped owned dogs walk around because there is someone to always look at them so stop creating a drama ... instead focus on poor families who need a meal

Anti Cat Dog person Sunday, 31 May 2020 05:59 PM
I am not a animal lover and have this cat lover lady in the house in front who keeps and feeds cats....but the cats are a bloody nuisance in the neighborhood. At night they keep us up with their mating rituals and cat fights and tresspass into our properties shitting and stealing our food. To all animal lovers, If you have animals keep them within your compound or let the animal catchers do their job. If you have too much money feed some homeless humans. Dogs and Cats can still find food from eating left overs in dumps. Humans cannot. Time that these people get their priorities right!

Jayanthi Sunday, 31 May 2020 07:35 PM
We don't know whether these idiots are paid to protest - may be personal enmity with Rosy!
It is interesting if a survey is done to see whether anyone of the protesters have at least one dog in their homes.
