Don’t these people have any other fruitful job ? Can they go and help the disabled, elderly , teach English in lower schools, clean public spaces, gather litter from sea coastal areas and much more. Even though you all looked elderly you still have to grow up. Ego satisfaction. Disgrace.

In fact the de facto leader now in this country is the lady Ambassador for US in Sri Lanka - an influential character to "aragalaya" since its inception and to its activists. Coming from that backdrop the chances are rare to have a favorable response from the authorities for this plea because the hierarchy of the country has been tamed by the said diplomat by now.

The US ambassador has only tried to save her skin, albeit by over cooking the customary diplomacy. She turns as per direction of the wind. Words, words and more words with a grin stretching from ear to ear is the way to bide her time. Reaction is a waste of time.

If the allegations are true, it is a good sign. US should take an interest in SL politics. China's influence and 'oiling the palms of corrupt politicians' need to be counterforced. With all the misgivings only the 'West' could save SL in a democratic way. It is the West we turn to migrate to better our lives. Remember, 'Kim Il Sung' and the first JVP uprising!
