R. Sampanthan is a highly respected politician, and the whole democratic world knows that.. no matter what, he resorted to non-violent ways to resolve the Tamil ethnic issue, and equal rights but all Sinhala governments are not willing to resolve it, due to the fear of separation

Representing a race is the issue, why could not he represet every one and become a true leader, he was only focusing on Tamils , that was a racist policy.

What did Mahinda do for the Tamils despite the pleadings time and again by the Hon. Mr Sampanthan to resolve the Tamil issue peacefully? Nothing is the answer. In fact it is worse than nothing. When other leaders tried to resolve this matter in consultation with Mr Sampanthan, Mahinda, stood firmly against it and blocked all efforts. He can grin like a Chesire cat all he wants but that wont change history.

In a way, MR has some respect for Senior Politicians, but his henchmen only spoilt this man. Great this man came to pay his last respects for Late Samanthan.
