The correct Tamil name of this place in Katpitti is Vathalakundu, a place by the same name exists in Tamil Nadu in Dindugal district. You can check it out yourself.

@ - Vithuran - one can add -‘ ya’ , or a ‘ wa’ or a ‘ra’ at the end of a Tamil name and make it a Sinhalese name. Eg : Nallur - Nallura, Valvettithurai- Valvettithuraiya, Yarlpanam - Yarlpanaya, Vavuniya - Vavuniyava, Anuradhapuram- Anuradhapurama, Hambanthottam - Hambanthottama . These were all Tamil names given to these places by the Tamil kings who ruled the pearl in the Indian Ocean.

If the government wants to earn on tourism it is time to keep proper systems giving directions to the various service providers on health, safety and all other issues that surfaces in various services

Why is this packed beyond its capacity? This looks like a trawler badly in need of repair and not sea worthy. Why do these so called local tourists pay money to go on board these kinds of boats? Has the owner paid a bribe to who ever gives a sea worthy certificate to these kind of vessels? This is a problem in SL.
