Passenger ship with 516 tourists arrives in Trinco

A group of 516 tourists from European countries arrived to Trincomalee yesterday by passenger ship MV Silver Spirit. The ship was berthed on Ashroff Jetty in Trincomalee harbour.

Residential Manager of Sri Lanka Ports Authority Saman Perera said it was the largest-ever group of tourists to arrive in Trincomalee harbour and that they would visit Sigiriya, Dambulla, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa during their stay in Sri Lanka before leaving for Thailand.

He said the Ports Authority received an income of Rs. 2.1 million from them. (Amadoru Amarajeewa)
