A group staged a demonstration outside the Wildlife Ministry urging the authorities to take sustainable remedies to save the lives of elephants in Sri Lanka. The demonstrators held banners with pictures of elephants which had died recently. According to statistics, at least 250 elephants have been killed so far this year in Sri Lanka due to an array of reasons including gunshots and electrocution. Pix by Pradeep Pathirana
