With growing anger at the alleged corruption and mismanagement by politicians in the country, a handwritten board was seen put up outside a house in Thanamalwila stating that all politicians are dishonest and they cannot enter this particular house.

People in the Kiul Ara Divisional Secretariat in Thanamalvila blamed the politicians for not fulfilling their promises, as a result of which their lands are now in danger. There are about eight parliamentarians representing the Monaragala District (government and opposition), and people allege that these politicians have not engaged in any development activities in their villages except selling their lands to businessmen from Colombo. All citizens should rise up peacefully to get rid of the 225 for good, to include their cronies occupying the higher offices in the public sector. Some of the 'Old Pigs' are not satisfied and are bringing their families to the trough too. There should be a time limit for all politicians, not to exceed two terms. Their wealth should before entering office should be declared publicly. They should not be allowed to do business while in office.

That's interesting which begs the question what do they actually do, what is their contribution can it be done in a better way because we have an executive president and supporting bureaucracy and a cabinet of ministers to run the country.And we always speak of restructuring this that and the other but never given a thought to this side of things.That's not to say there aren't clever people in parliament making a valuable contribution but sometimes they can lose touch with reality. Is it what the people want
