I doubt we were ever in a position where we were unable to host a small gathering like this. Let's get real and stop being critical of everything. Looks like a comment from an NPP not.

@Chaminda - Well said, and I appreciate you being positive. 99.99% of the NPP supporters' minds are filled with venom and an inferiority complex.

Step aside, state affairs! Last evening, it was all about regal affairs, hosting the hottest political tea party in town! It's delightful to see Princess Anne stepping in and continuing to carry the flag, fulfilling her sister's duties with grace.

President's wife Mrs. Wickramasinghe brings credit to Sri Lanka with her knowledge, conversational ability and dignified presence.

Not a single Tamil/ Muslim representative out of this government. No reconciliation. This is why we need two states in one country. You see the points. I presume the British did not give independence to the North and East.!

Some people see everything through a racial lens. Such people may be termed racists.

Chandrika's son in law is white. No surprise agreeing to give away whatever colonial bloc wants. So much bending

With "two-state theories" and frightening racist thinking, as expressed by two commentators, you won't solve any problems and you won't move the country forward!!! These are the old people who have no interest in the good development of Sri Lanka!!! The fact that Chandrika was invited justifies itself, she was a good president in difficult times!!!

Those photos show the imperial and superior mentality on Anne’s part and colonial obedience attitude on Ranil’s part…Both are like relics belonging to different era lost in history.

I agree with Sena RANIL playing pocket billiard is an old habit poor chap.
Maithri is an ornament simple and gracious never had a barb thrown at her unlike another woman murderer. She never misused her position and lives without being a burden on the people.
Hosting such dignitaries to commemorate getting released after 400 years of colonial rule is civilised behaviour in line with our hallowed traditions. What is unpardonable is despite a judicial order MR and crooks who bankrupted the country were feasting when millions are near starvation at poor man’s cost.

NO MATTER WHAT .WE CAN STILL INVITE ROYAL HIGHNESS PRINCESS ANNE TO A CORDIAL TEA PARTY AT PRESIDENT'S HOUSE. THAT IS IN A WAY OUR DUTY TO SERVE OUR COLONIAL MASTERS !!

I read the comment of Dan while fuming how my tax money is spent watching a video that has gone viral.
This despicable hollow SIRILIYA woman with hardly any education was seen wearing cap and gown recently.
TODAYS VIDEO SHOWED THE WOMAN DOING A STROLL WITH SEVEN MALE AND FEMALE BODY GUARDS. How our tax money works. Imelda Marcos of poor Lanka.
MUCH ADMIRED EDUCATED PROF MAITHREE CAME TO THE FORT RAILWAY STATION IN HER PRIVATE CAR BOARDED THE JAFFNA TRAIN WITHOUT ANY FANFARE. PEOPLE WERE AMAZED TO WATCH THE SIMPLE LIFE STYLE OF THIS GRACIOUS LADY.
RAJAPAKSAS STILL LIVE ON THE COUNTRY.
