Rangabhishek Ves Graduation 2025 held

The Rangabhishek Ves Graduation Ceremony 2025 was held today at De La Salle College, Colombo, marking a historic first for Colombo North schools.

The ceremony celebrated the graduation of twelve students from the school, most of whom are Catholic.

Traditionally, Ves Graduation Ceremonies are conducted in a Buddhist setting, emphasizing Buddhist rituals. However, this year's event was held at the Paramananda Purana Viharaya.

The students performed traditional dances under the guidance of the school's dance teacher, Buddhika Prabath Abeysiriwardena. The school principal, Joseph Jeyakanth, played a pivotal role in organizing the Rangabhishek Ves ceremony. The event saw the participation of numerous religious leaders, including monks and De La Salle brothers and sisters.

Special guests included representatives from the Colombo Education Zonal Office, the Divisional Education Office, and principals of Colombo North schools.

A large group of dance teachers supported the students during the head-dressing ceremony. The event was attended by teachers, students, and parents of the college, making it a memorable and inclusive celebration. Pix by Kithsiri de Mel
