It's heartening to see citizens helping each other during difficult times. We need to investigate the flood issue more deeply. Does the Attanagalu Oya drain through the Negombo Lagoon? If it's not receding as usual, it's time to examine how legal and illegal constructions around the Negombo Lagoon might be contributing to the prolonged flooding.

I hope some of our big Companies will step in to provide some assistance with food for these affected until they get their lodgings in order. Bags of provisions is useless and small cooked food parcels are the necessity
