Shevon Daniel wins Schoolboy Cricketer Award

Sri Lanka Youth Captain and member of the Sri Lanka Emerging Squad Shevon Daniel of St. Joseph's College, Colombo won the Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year for 2023 at the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association Under-19 Schools Cricket Awards held at the BMICH in Colombo.

The event was held in collaboration with Sri Lanka Cricket, with former legendary Sri Lanka spinner Muttiah Muralitharan as the Chief Guest.

Over 100 awards were presented for the Under-19 Boys’ Two-Day Tournament, Under-19 Limited Overs Tournament and Under-19 Girls’ Tournaments conducted during the school cricket season of 2022/23. (PIx by: Waruna Wanniarachchi)

It seems like Shevon Daniel had a "ball" of a time winning the Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year award! With Muttiah Muralitharan as the Chief Guest, this event must have been a spin-tacular celebration of cricket talent.

Daniel siblings are more like Wettimuni brothers.But the difference is neither of Daniels could not make to the top.I hope Shevon possesses the quality to represent Srilanka
