Residents of the Nallathanniya area are living in constant fear of possible dangers to their lives from a sounder of wild boars frequenting the town. They pointed out that several boars had sharp tusks with which anyone could be pierced to death.

Human lives are precious, culling of wild boars equally not acceptable, wild life department could relocate the wild boars to another location.

More and more animals are losing their natural habitats due to human encroachment into their natural homelands and due deforestation, there is lack of space and food for them. Even yesterday two elephants walked into the railway tracks and were killed by the train crash. A total of 399 elephants have died up to the month of October this year, and the majority of them due to human-elephant conflicts, shooting incidents and train crashes.

The Wildlife Department (DEAD) should carry out an immediate research as to why these boars are coming out of the Sripada Peak Wilderness Sanctuary! Is there human encroachment in to the Sripada Peak Wilderness Sanctuary etc! Whether there are Hakkapatas / Trap guns etc placed in the Sripada Peak Wilderness Sanctuary etc!
