Thai Buddhist delegation arrives with aid



A group of Thai Buddhist delegation arrived at the Katunayake International Airport yesterday with aid for Sri Lanka on a five-day visit.

The group, with 41 individuals headed by Bante Narong, the ultimate Ayodhya Temple Resident in Thailand, arrived in the country.

This group is to donate essential food, medicine, and scholarships for students, as well as robes for monks in Sri Lanka.

In addition, this Buddhist delegation is to participate in the annual Katina Pinkama at Kohilagedara village in Kurunegala.

Also, this group is expected to visit Galle, Ahungalle, Dambulla, and Kandy to engage in a tourism promotion program between the two countries. They are going to visit the Dalada Maligawa and meet the Malwattu and Asgiri Prelates.

The tour has been organized by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and Jetwing Travel Company. (T.K.G. Kapila)
