Devotees are celebrating the Thai Pongal festival today. A group of devotees gathered at the Sivan Kovil (Sri Ponnambalam Vanesar Kovil) in Kochchikade, Colombo and Bhadrakali Amman Kovil, in Dematagoda  to engage in religious rites in view of the Hindu festival.
