The Presidential Environmental Award 2019 was held at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre this morning. The Hokandara complex of  Wijeya Newspapers Ltd (WNL) received two awards at the ceremony. The Hokandara complex was awarded the best private institution that contributes to the environment category and for the environmental reporting for the print media. Journalist Kusumsiri Wijayawardhana of the Deshaya newspaper won a gold medal for environmental reporting for print media at the awards ceremony. Pix by Nisal Baduge
