Despite the Government yesterday announced that no vehicles would be allowed on the roads or for shopping purposes when travel restrictions are relaxed temporarily today, people were seen still travelling in their vehicles to buy the essentials, to avail services and to fulfil other purposes. At the same time, it was also observed that some people were on foot carrying many bags of foodstuff and other essentials. I have never seen such a situation in this country,we were told no vehicles on the road on 25 May.But we saw completely a different picture yesterday as people driving their vehicles to buy goods.Looks people don’t take the law in this country seriously any more.

Thanks to Wellawatta Police Station officers. They did a great service yesterday. They kept people is good distance while shopping and warned people when getting closer while shopping .

Not allowing a private vehicle to go and buy groceries has no meaning. Again closing the groceries and opening for one day is no use. You should keep the supermarkets and groceries open. Or you should arrange mobile shops. Or you should have by now organised online order and delivery. Sri Lanka does not seem to have embraced technology for last one year despite so many experts in the talk shows.

Why not allow time slots for GN or Police Divisions where people are allowed to shop. There were vehicles as good as any working day yesterday. I don't think it was successful

The public are now used as Kankanis to carry their essentials walking 2 to 3 miles. Isn't a vehicle driven by a family coming within the purview of the Bubble system of quarantine which is permitted. Why this harrassment

There has been no uniform law.It's always two tierd but a man pushing food items in wheel barrow is arrested for not wearing a mask.I admit it's wrong.Implement the law wisely.
