Army buys paddy
The 3rd Regiment of Sri Lanka Army began purchasing paddy for consumption directly from the farmers in the Ampara District today. The Regiment would purchase 35,000 kilos a day at a price of Rs. 35 a kilo. The programme was inaugurated today with the participation of Brigadier Haren Perera. Pix by Wasantha Chandrapala
