The OIC of the special investigation unit of the Excise Department who sought a bribe of Rs. 500,000 from a businessman was produced in the Colombo Magistrate Court today. He was charged for seeking a bribe from a businessman who was engaged in toddy production, for not taking legal action. Pix by Pradeep Dilrukshana
