The final Randoli Perehera of the Bellanvila Rajamaha Viharaya's Esala Festival was held last night on a grand scale for the 62nd year. The casket comprising sacred relics of the Buddha was placed on the gaily decorated Nedungamuwa tusker “Raja” by Viharadhikari Prof. Ven. Bellanwila Wimalarathana Thera. It was a colourful cultural pageant that comprised performances by more than 100 dancing troupes representing upcountry, low country and Samaragamuwa traditions. Pix by H.M. ane loku hamuduruwane!!! public from pepiliyana road didnt see a perahera, why all crew just walked, many elephant care takers rushing & we saw some elephants cant walk due to short tide of chains, feel very sorry, many public shouted at parade "want you people act". Please next time change the route, avoid nedimala route, perehara crew also tired due to long route. *Budusaranai*
