Idiot, it is dangerous and not called for. The cops do not seem to know their basic rules.

They are very good at saluting (more to curry favour!) even whilst cycling. If a member of the uniformedcadre (army, navy, AF or police) sees a superior officer, he is required to stand to attention and salute smartly! Shows how typically lackadaisical our people are!!

FINE FOR NOT SALUTING IS HIGHER THAN THAT FOR RIDING WITH ONE HAND.

I think this an irregular way of saluting whilst cycling..Police media spokesman will please elaborate this for the information of all ranks in the precious service.

Ahhhh, Kollupitiya Police Uncle. He has been in Kollupitiya for more than 25 years. I remember waving at him as a small school boy 20 years ago in the mornings on the way to school. 20 years later I still nod at him and he nods back.
