Malaka Silva and Rehan Wijeratne, who were remanded on charges of having attacked an army major, are seen leaving the Colombo Magistrate’s Court this morning after they were granted bail. Pix by Pradeep Dilrukshana

Please don't hate the Major for withdrawing the case... he is not a coward. If he is a coward, he would not have joined the "Special Forces" as an Army Officer and hold the rank of Major. Trust me, he has done his duty to the country.
For the Major, this is not about fighting against Malaka Silva or his father, this is about fighting against a government.
May the Triple Gem Bless You Major!!!

This reflects very badly on the country's Judicial system, the Police, the Army, courts etc. If an army major could be intimidated thus, then what chance does the 'average joe' in Sri Lanka have?
This is a disgrace, for these two thugs to be released. Why is the great thug Mervin in the pictures? Shame on everyone who is contributing to his comedy.

I am surprised that our armed forces shich stood firmly to eliminate the most brutal terrorist of the world from our our land now melting down like marshmellows to these thugs. The soldiers who sacrifised their lives for the country may be turning in their graves. SHAME TO ARMY AND SO CALLED INTELLIGENCE UNIT OFFICERS AND ARMY COMMANDER.
Throw your uniforms to dogs.

This son of a thug surrounded by thugs will terrorize this country with thuggery forever. The cops are there only to harass the innocent people and protect such thugs. Good luck Sri Lanka

Thugs rule this country. Even the law officers are scared to do their duty. These two are given bail to show that the case is not over, but unofficially it is over. We already know the results.

media pls dont make these ppl celebrities. They enjoy it. Even when a news of their arrest or thugery goes in media they are happy. When ever u publish a news abt them dont use decent pics of them. use pics of mervin with a bleeding head when he was attacked in Rupavahini.

They walk out like they won some Gold Medals in a prestigious event. Cant blame them too, because they dont know anything else except thuggery. After all, they have established a record in this country of having beaten up a Major in the Army which has the distinction of defeating the world's most ruthless terrorist outfit. Who is the better hero?
