Inauspicious beginning
The New Year’s Eve party at the Colombo Hilton resulted in many of the revelers having to be admitted to hospital when the platform they were standing on had collapsed. Several of those who were present complained that the event organisers and the hosts had neglected to attend on the injured and did not have a proper plan in case of such an emergency.
