Pardoned for Vesak
Nearly 110 inmates from the Welikada and Mahawa prisons were released under a common pardon granted on them to mark the 2600th Sri Sambuddhathwa Jayanthiya. 860 inmates from Prisons Island wide were granted the pardon. The main event was held at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya under the patronage of Prime Minister D.M Jayaratne. Pix by Pradeep Dilrukshana
