The Catholic Church in Sri Lanka today held a media briefing to call for a peaceful post-election environment to enable a smooth papal visit next week. Secretary of the Special Secretariat set up for the Pope’s visit Fr Cyril Gamini who made this appeal on behalf of the church said the visit will not be cancelled or postponed for any reason.
