The fuss over this issue is ridiculous.Having listened to both,(Sinhala and Tamil versions), the tune is identical and I am sure the words are too,though in Tamil language.It would be worth mentioning that during the rule of the British, even the British national anthem(God save the King/Queen),which applied to Ceylon as a colony,was sung not only in English but in Sinhala as well.Singing it in Tamil, as the second language of this nation,can do no harm at all.In fact, it will do much good in narrowing the ethnic gap (created over decades if not centuries), we witness even in this day and age,when there should be "none", as all born in this nation are "Sri Lankans" and nothing short of it.
