One is fined but 10 are crossing the road before the police. What is the point then? I have seen so many occasions similar to this. Educate and train the Police first.
RDA need to mark adequate and proper pedestrian crossings where necessary in each roads before implementing this kind of law. For instance, at an intersection of four roads, there must be pedestrian crossings, one at each road, close to the junction and proper signals must be installed to ease the crossing. No point of implementing such laws before having adequate infrastructure. I have seen many junctions where pedestrian crossing on one road is near the junction, whereas that on the perpendicular road is about 100m far from the junction. This is a kind of improper marking of pedestrian crossing, and in such intersections people will not use pedestrian crossing. Pedestrians' psychology must also be understood in marking Crossings.
